The race is on

Oh the travails of motherhood. It doesn't quit when the kids are eighteen, or twenty five. I remonstrated one of my children (gently to my way of thinking) and was told that I was passive aggressive. So as this is not a new charge I looked it up. Turns out the psychologist are reducing the use of the term, but when used by a layman, it means essentially PITA. That's not exactly what I was aiming for. This I believe. Now that I'm a PITA, have I got something to say! Now I can really unload! The other conclusion about people with passive aggressive behaviors is that when you call them on it, they deny it anyway. Just call a jerk a jerk. Guilty. (I guess)

Now here's the way I'd like to be able to 'splain my contentions. Sara, my bridge partner sent me the link to this video in English with English subtitles. Now if you're telling someone (Islamic types) they're total jerks, you may as well say it in English with subtitles lest you not be understood!

This little video struck me as appropriate, when President Bush is apparently pulling out all the stops to greet Pope Benedict as he rolls into the USA. The pope has a pretty full plate. I've read he's to take on some of the less and less catholic institutions of higher learning, address the UN and give a speech at ground zero from 9/11. A piece I read indicated that he was going to continue taking on Islam. Go get 'em Benedict. No need to be PC now. Yet to be seen how this visit plays out, of course.

Then on the political front, the Wall Street Journal editorial page takes on the crazy wonderland quality of the discussion of issues, specifically the three presidential contenders grandstanding at the Petraus hearings in congress last week. This time around there will be some certain and clear choices. The candidates my not be who or what anyone expected six months ago, but here we are.

And here, locally, it's stitching and playing bridge, wishing to be doing more writing, and printing of photos. I've decided to do my best of 2007 as prints and hang the collection on one wall. I have the best of 2006 still unquilted. The top is assembled though. As for photos, here's a little gem from Mardi Gras celebration. On beautiful clear Sunday, Cameron took to the skate board. Like father like son!

Now, if you haven't got an answer, you'd never have a question
And if you never had a question, then you'd never have a problem
But if you never had a problem, well everyone would be happy
But if everyone was happy, there'd never be a love song.
