Where have all the heros gone?

Over the last few months I’ve read a good bit about the history of the church. I’m up to the time of Charlemagne, Charles the Great. Christianity is under attack in our times, not by the Islamists, though they’re quite willing to reap the rewards of the crumbling structure. It’s an enemy within, an awful lot of people who have a grudge against the church, or the idiocy of some who claim to carry the torch. I guess however it is not my job to be dismayed or saddened. Faith requires that I let God continue working through history with His remnant.

An article on Big Hollywood started from the card from Chaplin’s first movie on the heroic story. I’ve pretty much quit going to see movies because I don’t seen anything heroic, nothing I want to emulate particularly. The writing here is about what it takes to put together a story line. If for no other reason than to look at the advert card for the movie The Kid follow the link.

And then there’s a heroic bridge. And some of my personal heros.

I’ve quilted enough to addle my brains? I can’t quite find a direction for writing here. I know it shows. Another day maybe.

Maybe only faith requires that we get out of bed each day, hopeful that it will be better than the last. You can’t find heroes in the church or its history. All organized religion is somehow structured to benefit the men at the top. Christianity is only defined by one hero. Our heroes today are those people we admire through adversity and who show great standards that they try to live up to each day. It took a while for me to answer this, because I really don’t know where your head is, but whether the writing makes sense or not, your head has always been better when you write. I love you.
