Quick Post before bed

Driving home, I got to hear about Marianne and her crew of about 15 young women who danced the thriller dance in the lower quarter and the Marigny for Halloween.  Sounded like a lot of fun.  Of course afterwards they celebrated All Saint’s Day.

Tania writes that the local private parcel service they used to hold their mail and gifts while they were out of town went under.   Whoops.  Wedding gifts gone missing.

Today we discovered that the local private parcel service  MAILBOXES OF PARK SLOPE, 328 FLATBUSH AVE, BROOKLYN, NY 11238 - was abandoned while we were out of town and they have left no forwarding information, no phone number, no nothing.  To say that this is a huge shock is understatement.  The business had been there for years and the guys who worked there seemed so nice and reliable.  I can only speculate as to what happened.

I have no idea when the business was abandoned, but it was sometime between October 10th when we left for New Orleans and October 21st when the local postmaster seized the mail being delivered there.  What they did with any packages being held there is unclear since the United States Postal Service is not responsible for other carriers.
No fun there.
But I’m home.   I’ve set up my new baby and finished the smallish blocks from the class I took with Jackie Robinson.  They’re laid out all over the cutting board, and looking pretty good, if I do say so myself.  I might get to sew them up tomorrow.  Trials of the new Elna?  Can’t get the needle threader to work.  Finally got the machine threaded the old fashioned way… by braille!  Tomorrow it’s back to work, and maybe a photo.
For now, I’m so grateful to have friends who dis my GPS, but put up with me for many days… and many laughs.   So glad for the time out of my routine, the wonderous quilts, speakers, teachers and all… it was a grand week.
